Douglas J. Widman

 |
Douglas Widman has been a member of the New Jersey Bar since 1973. He is also admitted to practice in
the Federal Courts, Washington, D.C., New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Upon graduating Cum Laude from Syracuse
College of Arts & Sciences and receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Syracuse College of Law in 1973, he began
his law career studying under several esteemed NJ Superior Court Judges before becoming Deputy Attorney General of
the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice.
Since setting out into private practice in 1976, Mr. Widman has focused his career on the areas of professional negligence,
employment/D&O litigation, real estate litigation, matrimonial, and personal injury. He has significant background in bankruptcy
and is certified for Electronic Case Filing (ECF) with the Federal Bankruptcy Court. He presently serves as an Arbitrator for
auto accident and fall-down cases and as a Qualified Mediator for the Superior Court. He is corporate counsel to non-profit
health, social services and educational institutions.
Mr. Widman is listed in Who's Who in American Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association and Life Member of New Jersey
and Monmouth County Bar Associations, as well as a member of DRI.

Joseph K. Cooney

Joe Cooney is a founding partner of the firm which had its inception in 1982. Mr. Cooney attended the University of Notre Dame where he received his B.A. in 1972 (Magna Cum Laude) and his J.D. in 1975. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1975, as well as the
U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. In 1990, he was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals - 3rd Circuit.
Mr. Cooney began his career as a litigation staff attorney with the house counsel office of a large liability insurance company.
He has extensive experience in handling a wide variety of professional liability cases, including the representation of the medical
and dental professions, realtors, insurance agents and attorneys, as well as handling general liability, dram shop and product
liability cases. Having tried more than 200 cases to jury verdict, Mr. Cooney is Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a
Civil Trial Attorney and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Trial Attorneys. He is past-President of the Haydn Proctor American
Inn of Court, a member of the Monmouth County Judicial Evaluation Committee and serves on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on
Civil Trial Certification which administers the certification examination to New Jersey Trial Attorneys.
Mr. Cooney has also served on the District Ethics Committee and as a member of the Civil Practice Committees of Monmouth and Ocean
Counties. He is a long-time member of the New Jersey, Monmouth County and Ocean County Bar Associations and speaks regularly to
various professional groups on Risk Management issues. His concentrated areas of practice consist of General Liability Litigation
& Professional Liability Litigation.

William E. Wilson

Bill Wilson has been a member of the New Jersey Bar since 1969. He graduated from Tulane University in 1966 and received his Juris
Doctor degree from Wake Forest University in 1969. Mr. Wilson is admitted to the United States Supreme Court and Federal District
Court. His practice emphasizes residential and commercial real estate, zoning and planning, as well as Equine Law. He has served
as a school board attorney, municipal attorney, municipal prosecutor and corporate counsel to a number of private, public and
not-for-profit organizations.
Mr. Wilson, formerly of Wilson & Fasano in Highlands, New Jersey, is past Special Counsel for the
New Jersey Horseman's Benevolent Association, N.J. Equine Practitioners Association, Inc., Thoroughbred Nominating Service Inc.,
and the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horseman's Association. Since 1987, he has attended numerous National Equine Law conferences
sponsored by the Office of Continuing Legal Education and the University of Kentucky College of Law. He is a past and present
member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, Monmouth County Bar Association, National Institute of Municipal Legal Officers,
American Judicature Society and the New Jersey School Board Association.
