DOUGLAS WIDMAN has been a member of the N.J. Bar since 1973. He is also admitted to practice in the Federal Courts, New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Upon graduating Cum Laude from Syracuse University, College of Arts & Sciences and receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Syracuse University, College of Law in 1973, he studied under several esteemed N.J. Superior Court Judges before becoming Deputy Attorney General of New Jersey with the Division of Criminal Justice.

Since beginning private practice in 1977, Mr. Widman has focused his career on the areas of professional negligence, employment/D&O litigation, criminal, real estate litigation, estate planning, estate administration, matrimonial, personal injury and bankruptcy. He presently serves as an Arbitrator and Rule 1:40 Qualified Mediator for the N.J. Superior Court and the N.J. Federal District Courts. He is corporate counsel to non-profit health, social services and educational institutions and is a Collaborative Law Mediator.

Mr. Widman is a member of the American, N.J. and Monmouth County Bar Associations, N.J. Assoc. of Professional Mediators, and Defense Research Institute.

JOE COONEY is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Trial Attorneys. He attended the University of Notre Dame where he received his B.A. in 1972 (Magna Cum Laude) and his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1975. The same year, he was admitted to the N.J. Bar and U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. In 1990, he was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals - 3rd Circuit.

Having began his career as a litigation staff attorney for a large liability insurance company, Mr. Cooney has extensive experience in handling professional liability matters, including medical and dental professionals, realtors, insurance agents and attorneys, as well as handling general liability, dram shop and product liability cases.

His other memberships include: past-President of the Haydn Proctor American Inn of Court, the Monmouth County Bar Judicial Evaluation Committee; N.J. Supreme Court Committee on Civil Trial Certification; District Ethics Committee; the Civil Practice Committees of Monmouth and Ocean Counties; the N.J., Monmouth County and Ocean County Bar Associations; Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, New Jersey Defense Association and Defense Research Institute.

MIKE McGANN graduated from Fairfield University in 1983 and earned his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1986. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar and the United States District Court of New Jersey.

Mr. McGann served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Alvin Yale Milberg, A.J.S.C. (ret'd). Mr. McGann was a partner with the law firm of Ronan, Tuzzio & Giannone. He has previously been a partner with the law firm of Amdur, Maggs & McGann and a partner with the law firm of Waldman, Moriarty & McGann.

Mr. McGann specializes in the defense of claims involving professional negligence, hospital and nursing home negligee, municipal tort and general liability. He has tried over 50 cases to verdict. Mr. McGann also reviews loan documents for a banking institution and handles real estate matters. He has argued numerous appeals before the Appellate Division, some of which have resulted in reported opinions. He has also argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court.

ED FITTERER graduated from Monmouth University where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the Criminal Justice National Honor Society. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice he continued his education at Seton Hall University School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2001. He was admitted to the N.J. Bar in 2001 and the Federal District Court in 2002.

Mr. Fitterer served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable James N. Citta, Superior Court of New Jersey, Ocean County from 2001 to 2002. He is experienced in a wide variety of areas including personal injury and premise liability, toxic tort, professional and medical malpractice, criminal defense, matrimonial, bankruptcy, mortgage modifications, residential real estate and commercial transactions.

EILEEN McGANN Graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate in 1986. She also earned her B.A. from Fordham University in 1979. Ms. McGann was a former Law Clerk to the Honorable John Boyle, J.S.C., and the Honorable Cuddie Davison, J.S.C. in 1986-1987.


CATIE CARTON has been admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York and Federal Court since 1999. Upon graduating magna cum laude from Muhlenberg College in 1995 where she served as the President of her class, she proceeded to Rutgers Law School. She graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1998. Following graduation from Rutgers Law School, Mrs. Carton served as a Law Secretary to the Honorable Ira E. Kreizman from 1998-1999 in the Family, Civil and Criminal Divisions.

In 1999, Mrs. Carton began her career in a small private practice that focused exclusively on litigation. Mrs. Carton has extensive experience in handling professional liability matters, including medical and dental professionals, realtors and insurance agents. She has extensive trial experience handling complex personal injury actions, products liability, premise and auto liability, along with worker's compensation, Social Security and P.I.P. matters.

Mrs. Carton presently serves as a New Jersey Supreme Court appointed Arbitrator, a graduate and Barrister of the Haydn Proctor American Inns of Court. Mrs. Carton is a member of the New Jersey and Monmouth County Bar Association.


ALLISON KRILLA graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in American Studies and Computer Applications in 1999. She received her Juris Doctorate in 2010 from Rutgers University School of Law, where she was managing editor of the Law Record and a Dean's Merit Scholar. Ms. Krilla is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and the Federal District Court of New Jersey.

Ms. Krilla served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Dennis R. O'Brien in the Superior Court, Monmouth County from 2010-2011. Prior to joining Widman, Cooney, Wilson, McGann & Fitterer, Ms. Krilla was associated with the law firm of Reardon Anderson. She has significant experience in defense of a wide variety of negligence claims, as well as commercial and business litigation. Ms. Krilla has also handled commercial and residential real estate transactions.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Krilla worked as a Copy Editor and Assistant Sports Editor at two of New Jersey's largest newspapers. Ms. Krilla is a member of the Borough of Lake Como Planning Board, Monmouth County Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association.



BILL WILSON has been a member of the N.J. Bar since 1969. He graduated from Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana in 1966 and received his Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1969. Mr. Wilson went on to be admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, Federal District Courts and all courts and administrative tribunals of the State of New Jersey.

Bill draws upon a wide range of experience that has proven to be invaluable in assessing a client's needs including but not limited to the following: law clerk to Monmouth County Superior Court Judges; Juvenile Conference Committee member and chairperson, Probation Counsellor for the County of Monmouth; a Special Deputy Attorney General, pool attorney for the Monmouth County Public Defender's Office.

Bill also has a broad range of commercial experience having represented builders, developers, corporations, LLCs, condominium associations and has served as corporate counsel and/or Board member to a number of private, public and not-for-profit and volunteer organizations.
